Bart Kramer graduated in criminal law, with a specific focus on international and financial (criminal) law from the University of Amsterdam. He started his career at Meijering Van Kleef Ficq & Van der Werf (now called Ficq & Partners) law firm, where he was admitted as a lawyer in 2013. In January 2018, Bart joined the partnership Van der Meij Advocaten. In January 2023, Bart and Aram van Galen founded the law firm Krämer & Van Galen.

Since January 2021, Bart uses his wealth of knowledge in (international) criminal law and his broad litigation experience to assist in Dutch&Detained’s work. In particular, Bart focuses on providing solutions to detainees in the US and to individuals who risk the death penalty. The vulnerability of detainees motivates Bart to do everything in his power to secure a fair trial.

Bart is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA). Bart is fluent in English and Dutch.
